WHO I AM
A classically trained oil canvas painter by the age of 6, a snowboarder, an avid traveler (27 countries and counting); I've lived and worked in 3 of the most dynamic and international cities in the world, New York City, Hong Kong, and Paris. My experience is born from start-up consumer mobile and enterprise applications which have served markets in North America, Europe, and APAC. I'm a creative risk-taker who understands the value of diversity.
I was suppose to be a foreign service officer with the state department. I loved solving real-world problems connected to actual people, excelled at bridging communication gaps between parties who think differently, and always relied on facts and hard data to make decisions or recommendations. I graduated from the University of Stony Brook with degrees in International Relations and Business Management. Working for the American Red Cross and living in Hong Kong for 2 years, I thought was leading me to a career in the foreign service; in fact it was preparing me for the versatile world of product management.
WHERE I WORK
Today I’m leading product at Blue Bite, who is focused on building a new Internet of Things (IoT) Object Management and Experience Suite. Before that I was a Sr. Product Marketer at Maaii, a mass market messenger app start-up based in Hong Kong focused on chat, VoIP, and other services (like stickers, animations, and more) .
HOW I WORK
RESEARCH
Identify a clear and solvable problem. Understand and empathize with people who need the solution. Scan the competitive landscape for strategic opportunities. Define design and technical goals as requirements.
USER TEST
Get out of the office and test with real people against actual problems. Understand that we are not the user and they can't tell you the exact solution.
PROTOTYPE
Combine insights with gut intuition and experience from across the team. Be comfortable saying "No". Identify the minimum sized solution to source valuable feedback from actual people.
REFINE
Use data and feedback from users to iterate. Share insights with stakeholders so the team has alignment. Keep testing!
